I founded Leaders because I believe that exceptional leadership does not come easily. Unlike technical skills, the human factors that constitute excellent leadership are rarely formally taught.
However, leaders and future leaders in the Channel Islands now have access to leadership coaching locally through this new consultancy.
We are focused on creating leadership excellence at C-suite and board level.
We aim to help organisations improve their bottom line by boosting their leadership performance and we work with organisations in the finance, manufacturing, charity, government and military sectors.
We can help facilitate organisational restructuring, recruit senior employees, improve senior-level performance and assist in motivating or engaging with stakeholders more effectively.
Our approach is to identify the purpose and what constitutes uniquely purposeful work within an organisation. Once this has been established we can then get to work identifying and harnessing the critical leadership strengths, such as passion, commitment, awareness and agility and assist in overcoming any counterproductive traits.
I have extensive expertise in psychometrics and the application of human data for individual, team and organisational success. Having trained with, and been mentored by, global leaders in this field, most notably Dr Charles Coker in the USA.
Dr Coker was one of the founding authorities of the Balfour Motivational Research Institute (BMRI). The institute spent over three years identifying and codifying the key human factor contributors to motivation and success.
Leaders uses human data to identify the strengths and weaknesses of both individuals and teams so that our team can then connect that unique mix of traits with the needs and objectives of the business.
We know that phenomenal leadership performance leads to many business benefits such as:
Winning rewarding business
Orientating to uniquely purposeful work
Spotting and exciting activity that is merely “good” in favour of “great.”
Attracting, retaining and engaging with a fantastic team.
Joining me at Leaders is Kaaren Welsby PhD, who is a Major in the British Army Reserves and specialises in the educational and psychological assessment of potential army officer candidates.
Kaaren has undertaken two operational tours and has worked extensively in the field of army recruitment, education and programme delivery in her role as an education adviser for the Army Officer Selection Board.
Also on the team is Peter Woodward, whose expertise also includes using psychometric tools to advance leadership, 360 survey activities, employment and discrimination tribunals and systems for effective objective-setting. He also advises start-up technology companies with board-level experience.
